Deji Adebusoye

Sahel Capital, Partner

Over the past seven years, I have invested in and supported entrepreneurs and SMEs across Africa. Because of my love for building things, very few things give me as much satisfaction as seeing a small business grow. Before my current role, I worked with an international company to set up their operations in Nigeria. Since then, I have spent 80% of my time either looking for new SMEs to support or supporting SMEs. An entrepreneur at heart myself, I ventured to start an entertainment company in Nigeria. I established the first escape room game in Nigeria. Unfortunately, the company shut down during COVID-19, leaving a major dent in my heart. But I am not one to be deterred. I have since embarked on writing a book that is aimed at supporting African entrepreneurs to scale and grow their businesses. The book is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2024. Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my family. I love taking my son to his football games and my daughter to her athletics practice. We play lots of games together, and we have a Friday movie night culture, which the children enjoy a lot. I find time to read non-fictional books and watch Liverpool play against several European clubs.
