Flavia Howard is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Climate Network, a localised, collaborative group of networks that build connections across the climate space and provide a common Voice of the Industry driving climate positive change. She co-founded the Nairobi chapter in 2021 to connect climate actors in Kenya and it has since grown to a community of 1,200 people. Flavia was previously at Dalberg Advisors, a social impact consulting firm, where she founded and led the firm’s Climate and Environment Practice. She supported Kenya’s Office of the President at the Africa Climate Summit and the UNFCCC High Level Champions team on ‘Mainstreaming Climate Resilience’ at COP27. Her project work spans climate smart agriculture, natural capital & ecosystem services, carbon markets and regenerative business.

Previously, Flavia led a market scoping study for BBOXX, an off-grid solar company, on the potential for renewable technology to transform energy provision in the DRC, and the revenue creation potential for Virunga National Park. Flavia also worked with the Government of Rwanda to assess water governance and built a framework for Rwanda’s new national Water Resources Board. She founded Rwanda’s first business selling smart-solar powered irrigation pumps for smallholder farmers.

Flavia started her consulting career at Accenture in London, working in the not-for-profit arm Accenture Development Partnerships, and with Accenture Sustainability Strategy. She focused on building inclusion and innovation across value chains, engaging with private sector clients including Vodafone, Unilever and SABMiller to create, implement and evaluate their sustainability strategies. She managed the Accenture CEO agenda at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
