IMAGINE Leaders – Jörg Eigendorf

Jorg Eigendorf

Deutsche Bank, CSO

I always try to leave the comfort zone. While studying economics at the University of Cologne in the early 90s, I started in parallel my journalisticcareer during the Yeltsin years in Russia – first as a free lancer, afterwards for the German weekly Die Zeit. In 1999 I returned to Germany and it followed 16 years with the media group Die Welt, of which the final five years as head of the investigation team, winning several prices for the reporting on human trafficking. Becoming the Global Head of Communication & Corporate Social Responsibility of Deutsche Bank in 2016 was an unexpected but good move as it made my learning curve much steeper again after three decades as a journalist. This new role also included the responsibility for sustainability. This has grown into a full task since it became a strategic management priority of Deutsche Bank in 2019 – and my passion. Hence, it was a natural move to drop the role as Head of Communications and solely focus on my new role as Chief Sustainability Officer from September 2022 on.

I'm interested in a future Oxford Experience
