PUR, Chief Strategy & Impact Officer, in charge of Growth
Raised across West Africa and Madagascar, I care about African smallholders surviving climate change and rural communities protecting their natural resources, for the wealth and cultural significance they hold. ‘Poor Economics’ shaped my worldview early on: I was taken by the power of data to amplify the voice of people living in poverty, enabling decision-makers to reduce bias and judgement when making choices on their behalf. It gives me hope that change is within our gift even with drastically limited resources, if we find the best cost- effectiveness ratios and scale interventions that work. I started my career at BCG, honing analytical skills on retailers’ big data and supporting the emergence of “shared value” strategies merging positive societal impact with business value in the Food & Beverage sector. I then fulfilled my student dream of working with the Nobel-winning authors of 'Poor Economics' as head of J-PAL Africa, where we launched a $25m climate adaptation research fund, scaled evidence-based education programs, and advised multiple African Presidencies on social policy. Now Chief Strategy & Impact Officer at PUR, a leader in reducing scope 3 emissions in agricultural supply chains, and in charge of our organisational growth, my purpose is to embed evidence in how companies & climate investors allocate their funds and create more commercial opportunities for multi-outcome, community-driven investments like agroforestry.
