Alexander Zanders is the Founder and CEO of UfarmX, a credit-infrastructure company making Africa's smallholder farmers individually lendable for the first time in history. His path began during COVID, when he bought and farmed 100 acres in Nigeria and discovered that the farmers around him, more skilled than he was, were producing a fraction of their potential for one reason: no access to credit. He built UfarmX to close that gap. Today the platform operates across Nigeria, Senegal, and Liberia, with Kenya launching. It turns farm and transaction data into collateral-free credit scores that let capital reach farmers formal finance has never been able to see. Alexander is the 2025 Black Ambition Grand Prize winner, a Semafor World Economy Principal, and has spoken at the World Economic Forum in Davos and the Milken Institute's Fintech Advisory Council. He believes financial identity is economic dignity, and that the 600 million farmers holding most of the world's remaining farmland are the largest overlooked opportunity on earth. He is a proud father of two, and he still farms.
