Benjamin R. Jordan, Ph.D., is Professor of the Practice in the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in sustainable business strategy, energy technology and policy, and organizations and policy. His teaching, research, and external engagement focus on the intersection of public policy, corporate behavior, entrepreneurial innovation, and stakeholder networks, with particular emphasis on the institutional and organizational changes needed to accelerate sustainability transitions. Current areas of interest include circular economy, critical minerals, climate, nature, sustainable supply chains, and the translation of research into practice. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Dr. Jordan had a 30-year journey with The Coca-Cola Company, where he held global leadership positions spanning environmental policy, climate strategy, sustainable agriculture, packaging, circular economy, and supply chain sustainability. He helped shape the company's World Without Waste strategy, represented Coca-Cola during United Nations negotiations on a global agreement to address plastic pollution, and collaborated extensively with organizations including the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, World Economic Forum, World Wildlife Fund, and Consumer Goods Forum. His work took him to more than 50 countries, helping companies, governments, NGOs, and suppliers navigate complex sustainability challenges. At Georgia Tech, Dr. Jordan is building an interdisciplinary program that bridges academic research with industry practice through applied research, student engagement, executive education, and collaboration with corporations, startups, investors, NGOs, and public-sector organizations. His work emphasizes understanding how organizations, markets, and public institutions co-evolve to solve complex sustainability challenges, and how research can inform practical solutions that create lasting environmental, economic, and societal value. In addition to his faculty appointment, he serves as Senior Advisor with Clear Strategy, where he advises companies and collaborative initiatives on sustainability strategy and the transition toward more circular and resilient systems.
