Starting as an agronomist, my journey began in the heart of Central Asia, where I focused on agriculture and community development in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Following a return to Switzerland, I shifted into applied research at EAWAG, where my perspective was shaped by circular economy principles, waste recycling, and environmental sanitation. During my doctoral studies, I had the rewarding experience of conducting research in Southeast Asia while mentoring a fellow student in West Africa. This path led me to FiBL, where I led the global programme on farming systems comparison in the tropics and deepened my expertise in organic agriculture. I eventually transitioned into the corporate world, spending a decade at Nestlé Headquarters. There, I designed sourcing strategies that bridged the gap between field and factory, always keeping farm-level sustainability at the core. Today, I am proud to serve as Director General of the SAI Platform, leading industry-wide efforts to champion regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices across the globe.
