Canopy, Head of Impact

Kari Stoever

Kari Stoever is Head of Impact at Canopy, where she works with global brands, producers, investors, and policymakers to transform the fibre supply chains behind fashion and packaging, protecting the world's forests while accelerating circular, lower-impact alternatives. Her career began as an emergency-room nurse and has followed an unconventional path through medical research, global health, and planetary boundaries. Kari helped build a global movement to tackle neglected tropical diseases, contributing to efforts that have reached more than one billion people, and has worked across sectors with governments, business, philanthropy, and civil society. Throughout, she has been drawn to the places where complex systems can be shifted through unlikely partnerships, shared purpose, and the courage to imagine something better. Kari is also a writer and researcher exploring the polycrisis, worldviews, and the inner transformation our collective challenges ask of us. Her contemplative formation has deepened her belief that systems change is ultimately human work, rooted in relationship, humility, and remembering that we belong to one another and the living world. She lives in Seattle and finds her way back to herself through writing, hiking, cycling, and exploring alpine lakes.
