Marie Asano is currently a Partner at ECBF, an impact fund investing in growth-stage companies active in Bioeconomy (ag-tech, nutrition, biosphere) and Circularity (circular systems, green chemistry, materials). At ECBF Marie primarily focuses on nutrition and food tech investments. Previously she was at High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), a German-based seed fund where she led early-stage investments in the areas of chemistry/materials, climate tech, animal health and life sciences. Before beginning her professional career, Marie completed her PhD in Chemistry at the universities of Liège and Bordeaux, after which she obtained an MBA at the Collège des Ingénieurs.
