Andrea Brown

Andrea Brown is the Chief Sustainability Officer at LyondellBasell, one of the world's largest plastics and chemicals companies. Since joining LYB in November 2019, she has been instrumental in driving efforts to position LYB as an industry leader in value creation from sustainability. Andrea brings over two decades of sustainability leadership and business transformation, corporate strategy, and policy development. Prior to LyondellBasell, she led impact strategy for Quadia, a private equity firm in Geneva, Switzerland, specializing in scaling circular economy. She also spent ten years at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the leading CEO-led coalition advancing the global sustainability transition. Andrea’s contributions to global sustainability have earned her the 2024 SDG Pioneer Award from the UN Global Compact. She began her career in public policy, focusing on international energy relations and trade policy in Canada. Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Global Policy and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She has lived, worked, or studied across Vietnam, Thailand, China, Canada, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. She is married, with one twelve year old son, and lives in the Hague.
