David Boroto is the CEO of Engineers Without Borders Canada. He previously served as Interim CEO, following five years as Chair of the Board of Directors. David has been an EWBer for more than a decade, including roles as a university Chapter President and overseas fellow in Kenya and Uganda. He holds a BASc in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto and an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge. Previously he worked in the private sector as an Infrastructure Advisory Consultant at Mott MacDonald and in the development sector as an Infrastructure Analyst with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). Born in South Africa to Congolese parents, David describes himself as a third culture kid Canadian with a global outlook. He works at the intersection of infrastructure engineering and global development in pursuit of a world in which every individual has the opportunity to achieve a fulfilling life.
