I am a global citizen and former expat child, born German and raised across Madagascar, Romania, and France. France became my home country, where I have spent nearly 30 years. There, I met my wife Betty (French, despite her name), whom I later convinced to move with me to Russia in 2012. Switzerland and the Netherlands followed, where we are currently based. During these years, we raised two daughters, now aged 11 and 12. To complete the circle, we plan to return to the Paris region in the summer of 2026. I hold a Master’s degree in Physics from ETH Zurich. Less drawn to academic research, I moved into industry and complemented my technical background with an MBA from INSEAD to build strong business expertise. After seven years in strategy consulting with A.T. Kearney, I held executive roles across procurement, supply chain, sales, strategy, project execution, and general management at Alstom, Air Liquide, ABB, and most recently ASML. While I remain open to joining another “A-company” in the future, my near-term focus is advisory work for private equity firms. Having lived and worked across cultures, I am deeply interested in history and in understanding what drives people toward happiness—or madness. I look forward to joining the Imagine community and contributing to making the world a better place.
