Tobias Raffel is Co-Founder and Director of Biodiversity Bridge, an NGO that connects leading biodiversity experts with business leaders and supports companies in integrating biodiversity into strategy and decision-making. He also leads the European Biodiversity Coalition, which brings together major European companies to drive collective, nature-positive action. Previously, Tobias founded and served as Executive Director of the Institute for Sustainable Transformation at ESMT Berlin, Germany’s leading business school. In this role, he worked closely with senior executives to advance practical sustainability and biodiversity solutions. He brings more than ten years of leadership experience in private foundations, including the Roland Berger Foundationand the Werte-Stiftung, as well as over a decade at the global strategy consultancy Roland Berger, advising multinational corporations and public-sector institutions. Tobias is a social scientist by training. He studied at LMU Munich, the London School of Economics, and Harvard University, and holds a PhD in Political Science. He is married, has one son, and lives in Berlin.
