Summit Africa, Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Tomi is the principal Founder and Managing Partner of Summit Africa, a Southern Africa focused impact investment manager that was established in 2016 to mobilise institutional capital to invest in low-to-mid market companies and social infrastructure in sectors that are critical to economic and social development such as Financial Services, ICT Services, Food Supply Chain, Healthcare, and Education. Over the last 5 years, Summit has invested over $120 million into these critical sectors on behalf of local and international institutional investors, in the process improving access to quality education and training specifically for previously disadvantaged individuals, improving access to quality healthcare specifically in peri-urban, rural and township areas, and improving access to finance and financial services for SMMMEs and lower- income groups in South Africa. Tomi led the deployment of Summit’s maiden fund, the Summit Private Equity Fund I, which was recognized as the Best ESG Fund of the Year in the prestigious 2023 SuperReturns Africa GP Awards. Summit has also been recognized as a top manager in Sustainability Themed Investment and ESG Integration by 27Four Investment Managers, Riscura and UCT Business School. Tomi is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town. Tomi is also a fellow of the Archbishop Tutu Leadership Institute, a dynamic network of fellows passionately committed to Africa’s transformation in the global context.
